Upgrading and transferring their security system

Swale is a local government district with borough status in Kent, England. The client asked Icom to transfer their security system to the Medway Council control room, which resulted in a security system upgrade.

The BDR approach

BDR installed two BT 100Mb fibres with the connecting RSL1000 units. Our engineers then transferred the controls to the Medway Council Control Room, which consists of the following:

  • 4 x 52″ JVC TFT monitors,
  • 1 Monitor wall,
  • 3 17″ desk mounted monitors in swivel arms
  • 1 new bespoke control room desk with ergonomic operator chair
  • CCTV control equipment located in server room.

The Results

Kent Police commented that relocating more of the smaller town centre CCTV control rooms to larger regional hubs would be, in their view, the way forward.

This project was politically sensitive. It was completed on time and within budget and is still considered a complete success.

All work carried out by our sister company, ICOM Holdings.
